Course Description

Prerequisites: Piloting Course and CPS membership.

The Advanced Piloting Course includes advanced coastal navigation principles to enable you to know your vessel's position at all times. Determine your vessel's position by using landmarks and aids to navigation - allowing for current, leeway, tides and tidal currents.

There are two exams included at the end of this course.

  1. Open book, at home cruise.
  2. Closed book exam in the classroom.

Both exams must be passed in order to pass the Advanced Piloting Course.

Please bring with you a pencil, an eraser and a set of dividers.
